No saturation in the accumulation of alien species worldwide

The number of non-resident species is growing steadily and there is no indication that this trend is diminishing.

An international research team, coordinated by Franz Essl of the University of Vienna and Hanno Seebens of Senckenberg in Frankfurt, found that the rate of new observations of non-locals in the last decades steadily increased, with currently 1.5 new non-locals per day worldwide.
