ERC Advanced Grant to Stefan Dullinger

01.04.2020

In his ERC project, ecologist Stefan Dullinger from the Department of Botany and Biodiversity Research is investigating the effects of climate change on mountain plants.

It is currently still unclear whether the high altitude of the mountains in climate change represents a dead end for the plants living there, looking for cooler regions. Because the different microclimate conditions - for example with large temperature differences between surfaces inclined to the north or south - may offer a particularly good alternative, especially at these high altitudes. Stefan Dullinger wants to clarify this, using permanent observation data, remote sensing methods, experiments and computer simulations. [more]
