Young Investigator Award 2024
General Information
The Young Investigator Award is an initiative of the Faculty of Life Sciences to honour young postdoctoral scientists publishing in the top journals of their field. The award has a value of 1,500 €. Up to two awards will be granted in 2024. Award recipients will be selected according to their publication output. At least one publication should be published under the affiliation of the Faculty of Life Sciences. They are expected to use the grant, formally disbursed to the account of their department, to conduct research and/or support their participation at international meetings.
Eligibility
All Junior Scientists working at the Faculty of Life Sciences who are employed by the University of Vienna at the time of application (also via third-party funds) and who have received their Ph.D. within the last 4 years (parental leaves up to 1,5 years per child can be added) are eligible for this award. Former awardees are not eligible.

Gertrud Pleskot Award 2024
General Information
The Gertrud Pleskot Award is an initiative of the Faculty of Life Sciences to improve the visibility and career perspectives of highly qualified female scientists publishing in the top journals of their field. The award has a value of 1,500 €. Up to two awards will be granted in 2024. Award recipients will be selected according to their publication output. At least one publication should be published under the affiliation of the Faculty of Life Sciences. They are expected to use the grant, which will be formally disbursed to the account of their department, to conduct research and/or support their participation at international meetings.

All female scientists working at the Faculty of Life Sciences who are employed by the University of Vienna at the time of application (also via third-party funds) and who have received their Ph.D. within the last 8 years (parental leaves up to 1,5 years per child can be considered) are eligible for this award.
