Research Support
The Research Support of the Faculty of Life Sciences provides help and support for researchers of our faculty in acquiring external funding and research related topics. The team looks forward to assisting you with your research project applications in close cooperation with the funding agencies and the central service units of the University of Vienna (Research Services & Career Development, Accounting & Finance, and Human Resources & Gender Equality).

The Research Support Life Sciences ...
- assists you with project planning and submission (e.g., proposal check, feedback, background intelligence relevant for funding applications, budget calculation, contractual issues, obtaining signatures and internal approval from the Dean) for all §26 projects, for selected FWF programmes (i.e., Principal Investigator, ESPRIT etc.) and §27 projects with a funding volume up to 100.000 €.
- acts as an interface to all project-relevant administrative units at the university (Research Services and Career Development, Finance and Controlling, Human Resources, International Office) and to funding agencies
- deals with national and international cooperation agreements of the Faculty
- coordinates the application process for obtaining permits for animal experimentation (Animal Ethics and Experimentation Board, Federal Ministry for Women, Science and Research)
- manages the Faculty's funding programs for early-career researchers
Important Submission Rule
Regardless of the respective unit in charge of your project application (see below), please inform the Research Support LEWI as early as possible about the planned submission, but at least 14 days before the planned submission date or deadline.
